Guidelines for our classroom
- Follow directions
- Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
- Complete work quietly and do not disturb others
- Show respect for your school, peers and personal property
- Work and play in a safe manner
- Listen while others are talking
Doing your P.A.R.T. will be the school wide model we follow:
P = personal best A = active listening R = respect T = truth and trust
I will use the following to encourage responsible behavior
1. Cougar cards (there is a school drawing every morning and I do a drawing every Friday for a chance to pick a prize from our prize drawer)
2. Positive notes/calls home
3. Praise and smiles
4. Reward time every Friday
5. Adding marbles to a class jar (once the jar is filled we will have a classroom party)
If your child is choosing not to follow the guidelines then the following will take place:
1st time: verbal or nonverbal (look) warning
2nd time: placing their name on a 1
3rd time: placing their name on a 2 and having a time out in our room/or nearby room
4th time: placing their name on a 3 and a phone call/note sent home
5th time: office referral and they will determine the consequence
**Severe or serious disruptions (for example: fighting, threatening, defiance, bullying, etc.) your child will receive a referral immediately.
Also if your child is continually disrupting learning then we may discuss placing them on a behavior checklist that will be sent home daily for a signature.
